One of the biggest historical matches in Serie A (SA) will have another
chapter this weekend, as Juventus take on AC Milan in a contest that
could make or break these two teams’ seasons. The Old Lady (JUV) sit at
the top of the SA standings with 75 points (W24, D3, L2) and look set to
win the Scudetto title for the seventh-straight season.
They are currently riding a 24-match unbeaten run across all
competitions and were amid a 12-game winning streak in SA until their
last match, which was a disappointing 0-0 stalemate against lowly Spal.
Meanwhile, Milan six sixth in the standings with 50 points (W15, D5, L8)
and if the season ended today, they would clinch a UEFA Europa League
berth. The club has undergone a massive turnaround since the appointment
of Gennaro Gattuso as coach.
The numbers back that up. Milan are currently riding a five-game winning
streak, and a ten-game unbeaten run!
